Montgomery County, Tennessee is seeking a Library Branch Supervisor for the North Branch in Clarksville, TN. The role oversees daily operations under the Assistant Library Director and collaborates with Youth Services and Public Services to plan and present programs at the North Branch.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree (MLS preferred) and has several years of library guest services and supervisory experience, with a valid driver’s license and a background check required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; Master’s degree in library science preferred.
• Three (3) years of library guest services or related experience; two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license; a pre-employment background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to County residents and businesses.
• Provides leadership and management to staff and volunteers; supervises and evaluates performance; recommends training.
• Directs complex work and interprets policy and procedure; engages in professional development and committee work.
• Works service desks and assists patrons with library materials, computers, PACs, and card registration.
• Educates patrons and provides readers advisory; performs basic troubleshooting of Automated Materials Handling System.
• Develops programming for patrons of all ages and conducts library tours and group programming.
