Job summary

Montgomery County Library System is seeking a Library Branch Supervisor for the North Branch in Clarksville, TN. The role focuses on managing daily operations, coordinating programs, and collaborating with Youth Services and Public Services teams.

You will lead staff, ensure excellent customer service, and oversee programming for all ages while maintaining safety and policy compliance at the North Branch location.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of library guest services or related experience; two (2) years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Master’s degree in library science preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• A pre-employment criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to County residents and businesses.
• Supervises the work of and monitors and evaluates on-going performance of staff; assesses and makes recommendations regarding training needs.
• Directs individuals on complex work and interprets the application of policy and procedure.
• Engages in leadership opportunities, professional development, participates in committee work and provides instruction to patrons and staff as assigned.
• Works service desks, assisting patrons to check out library materials, use public computers and PACs.
• Registers patrons for library cards, assists with fees, places holds and performs payment transactions.
