North American HVAC Key Account Manager

Summary (Position Description):

OJ Electronics is looking for a North American HVAC Key Account Manager to join a successful and ambitious sales organization with a strong team. As a key player, you'll be responsible for the technical and business sales development within OJ Electronics' HVAC business area, focusing mainly on new business across the North American market. This is an attractive and independent position in Danish company that is owned by the global organization, BITZER Group. OJ Electronics has a significant growth strategy the North American market, offering you ample opportunities for success and professional development.

Reports To: The Sales & Business Development Director, HVAC – based at OJ’s HQ in Denmark

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday expecting to work 40-50 hours a week with travel time.

As a North American HVAC Key Account Manager, you will:

  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the North American Market, Including selling Variable Frequency Drive products to manufacturers (OEM’s) of light commercial, commercial, and light industrial ventilation equipment.
  • Develop strong, result-oriented relationships with customers, transforming them into key clients for OJ’s system solutions
  • Monitor market trends and proactively update customers about OJ Electronics' product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Danish headquarters to align market needs with product development and optimizations, maintaining close communication with product managers.
  • Work closely with existing North American colleagues, including an Application Specialist and another Key Account Manager, to build a cohesive and successful regional presence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree – recommended
  • Proven commercial and technical expertise, with 5+ years of experience in key account management within the HVAC+R industry.
  • Strong business acumen and background in selling technically complex products.
  • Disciplined approach to managing lengthy sales cycles.
  • Persistent and opportunity-focused with a passion for team growth.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within North America (~50% of the time), initial efforts could be as much as 75% and internationally to Europe (2-3 times per year).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Variable Frequency Drive sales and applications
  • Ability to identify and secure new business opportunities in the North American HVAC market.
  • Identify market opportunities and create actionable plans to capitalize on them.
  • Self-driven with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in creating and executing sales plans to achieve or surpass annual sales budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.

  • You will flex between a professional remote office setting and outdoor elements involved while traveling.
  • Will require the person to travel 50% of the time using car and airplane.
  • The role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
