Job summary

Cititec, with a global commodities trading partner, seeks a Quantitative Analyst who blends a strong quantitative toolbox with energy market interest. You’ll work close to the trading desk, building fundamental models, digging into market data, and developing tools with direct trading impact.

You will have a Master’s in a quantitative field, 3+ years in gas trading, and strong Python skills to back-test trading strategies and ensure data integrity across North American markets.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, economics, or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of gas trading experience.
• Strong quantitative modeling skills (statistics, econometrics, applied mathematics, physics).
• Strong Python programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain quantitative models of North American natural gas fundamentals.
• Develop quantitative tools and analysis to support trading strategies with traders and software developers.
• Back-test and validate models and trading strategies.
• Maintain data quality and integrity for trading models and analytical tools.
• Document methodologies and interfaces clearly.
• Research and refine systematic trading strategies across North American natural gas markets.
