Job summary

InCommodities North America seeks a Quantitative Analyst to join the US gas trading desk, building fundamental models, analyzing market data, and developing tools with direct trading impact.

You’ll work closely with quants and traders across Stamford, CT, and Houston, contributing to algorithmic strategies, back-testing, and ensuring data quality while advancing energy trading in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, or another related quantitative field.
  • 1-3+ years of experience working in a similar position within gas trading.
  • Excellent skills in quantitative modeling (e.g., statistics, econometrics, applied mathematics, physics)
  • Great programming skills, preferably in Python

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain quantitative models of North American natural gas fundamentals, such as supply-demand models.
  • Create tools and analysis to implement and fine-tune algorithmic trading strategies in collaboration with traders and software developers.
  • Conduct back-testing and validation processes of algorithmic trading strategies to ensure the reliability and accuracy of models before implementation.
  • Ensure the quality of input data used in trading models.
  • Take ownership of documentation to ensure comprehensive coverage of model functionalities and interfaces.
  • Develop and refine new algorithmic natural gas trading strategies.
