Job summary

Room to Read in New York or San Francisco is seeking a Development Manager to grow philanthropic revenue across North America. You will manage a portfolio of major donors, cultivate relationships, and help expand the donor pipeline.

The role involves proposals, stewardship reports, donor communications, and collaboration with Marketing and Global Operations. Travel to NY or SF area as needed, and precise Salesforce record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in development or related field.
• Proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Experience managing donor portfolios and achieving fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

• Major Gift Fundraising: manage a portfolio with $2M annual goals and steward donors.
• Donor Pipeline & Program Support: grow Mid-Net-Worth donor program and maintain donor records in Salesforce.
• Market Planning & Collaboration: support regional planning, events, and cross-team initiatives.
