Job summary

Edwards Vacuum, a division of Atlas Copco, seeks Head of Distribution - North America to lead the distribution center, drive growth, optimize costs, and align logistics with commercial strategies in NA. This on-site role is based at our Sanborn, NY facility and reports to the VP of Logistics for VTBA.

The role requires strong P&L ownership, strategic expansion, and KPI-driven management across supply chain functions. Competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5–10 years logistics/distribution experience.
• Inventory management skills.
• Operational drive and result-oriented focus.
• Organizational & process development skills.
• Proficiency with SAP, Power BI, Excel & Access.
• Excellent command of English, verbal and written.
• Experience with multi-stakeholder management.
• ~200K outbound OLs/year supporting global and regional distribution.

Responsibilities

• Assume full P&L ownership for the DC, driving revenue growth, cost efficiency, margin expansion and optimal capital efficiency.
• Position the DC as a strategic business partner to enable market share growth and enhanced customer retention.
• Identify, develop and scale value-added services and optimized service costing models.
• Define and execute a long-term DC expansion strategy aligning capacity with growth plans.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Care, and Business Line leadership to align logistics with commercial objectives.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and investment planning.
• Drive cost-to-serve transparency and optimization across logistics decisions.
• Monitor KPIs such as cost per order line, inventory turns, and freight spend; take corrective actions.
• Evaluate capital investments based on ROI and strategic fit.
• Advise senior leadership on logistics risks and opportunities.
