Job summary

Sony Electronics Inc. seeks a senior manager to lead North American customs and trade compliance, shaping policy, systems, and training. You will coordinate with Legal, Logistics, Tax, Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to ensure adherence to U.S., Canadian, and global import/export laws.

The role requires 10+ years in customs or international trade, strong data analysis and Excel skills, and experience with trade compliance programs. Hybrid work model in California support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in customs, international trade, or import/export compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. customs laws and regulations.
• Experience developing and implementing customs compliance strategies, policies, controls, and training.
• Experience conducting compliance reviews and responding to government inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Lead NA customs and trade compliance strategy and training.
• Provide guidance to ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and global import/export laws.
• Partner across Legal, Logistics, Tax, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Conduct audits of import declarations and identify compliance gaps.
• Lead communications with government agencies and respond to inquiries.
• Perform annual financial analyses and import valuation reconciliations.
• Lead Duty Drawback Program and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Advise on tariff classification, origin, and other trade programs.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement process improvements.
