Job summary

Sony Electronics Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Customs & Trade Compliance to lead the NA strategy, policies, and training across functions. You will interact with Legal, Logistics, Tax, and Supply Chain to ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian import/export laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in international trade, supply chain, accounting, finance, business, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in customs, international trade, or import/export compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. customs laws and regulations, including tariff classification and origin rules.
• Experience developing and implementing customs compliance strategies, controls, and training.
• Experience conducting compliance reviews or audits and addressing corrective actions.
• Knowledge of duty reduction, drawback programs, and foreign trade zones.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and handling large data sets.
• Experience with global trade management software and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the North American customs and trade compliance strategy, policies, and training.
• Provide guidance to ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and global import/export laws.
• Collaborate with Legal, Logistics, Tax, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams.
• Conduct internal audits of import declarations and address compliance gaps.
• Manage communications with government agencies and respond to external audits.
• Perform annual financial analyses and import valuation reconciliations.
• Lead the Duty Drawback Program to reduce or recover duties.
• Advise on tariff classification, origin, and partner government requirements.
• Support bonded warehouses, FTZs, and related regulatory programs.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate to actionable requirements.
