Job summary

Tailored Brands, Inc. is seeking a Director of Customs Compliance to lead the enterprise Import Compliance program. The role is the supply chain leader for customs compliance, broker governance, duty optimization, and audit readiness in a hybrid Houston/New York setting.

You will partner with Sourcing, Product Development, Transportation, Finance, Legal, IT, and external partners to manage regulatory risk, improve landed-cost outcomes, and build a defensible end-to-end import process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Legal Studies, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive customs/global trade/import compliance experience (15+ preferred).
• At least 5 years at the Director level leading a comparable function.
• Prior apparel-industry experience strongly preferred.
• Expert knowledge of CBP requirements, HTS/HS classification and origin.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the enterprise Import Compliance program — policy ownership, controls, governance forums, risk assessment, escalation, remediation, and executive reporting.
• Build, lead, and develop the Import Compliance team and coordinate classification, valuation, broker management, analytics, and documentation.
• Own broker/advisor governance: selection, service levels, and scorecards with corrective actions.
• Establish centralized governance for HTS classification, customs valuation and origin; ensure consistent classifications.
• Oversee importer-of-record governance across entities and maintain surety bonds.
• Serve as governance partner for Sourcing, Product Development, Transportation, Logistics, Finance, Legal and IT.
• Lead duty optimization and recovery initiatives (USMCA, CAFTA-DR, AGOA, FTZ, etc.).
• Direct risk-based monitoring covering pre/post-entry controls, broker performance, classification, and analytics.
• Lead CBP audits, CF28/CF29 actions, inquiries, and disclosures with cross-functional teams.
• Own training framework and enforcement of trade-compliance technology.
