Job summary

Allied World seeks an experienced claims professional to investigate, evaluate, and resolve insurance/reinsurance claims across multiple lines. You will engage with underwriting, finance, actuarial, operations, and tech to deliver superior service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload, reviewing coverage, handling litigation, and collaborating with brokers, insureds, and reinsurers. A university degree and 0–3+ years experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• University degree.
• 0-3+ years claims experience.
• Excellent communication skills and independent work style.
• Strong writing and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and technical writing experience.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and interact with all levels inside and outside of the Company.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of claims, legal and coverage issues across jurisdictions.
• Compliance with multi-state adjuster licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage a vigorous caseload of claims across multiple lines.
• Analyze claims on multiple lines of business.
• Review documents to verify coverage and establish reserves.
• Investigate matters, analyze coverage, and draft coverage correspondence.
• Verify financial information and process payments with offsets.
• Manage litigation by interacting with insureds, brokers, and defense counsel.
• Instruct and collaborate with counsel regarding strategy and settlement.
• Negotiate and resolve claims within delegated authority.
• Represent the company in claims proceedings, including mediations.
• Conduct claim reviews with ceding companies when requested.
• Interact with underwriters on renewals and accounts.
• Meet with insureds and brokers; liaise with other departments.
• Prepare claim summaries, executive reports, and other management reports.
• Generate reports and work on special projects; attend industry meetings.
• Assist with audits; work with reinsurers as needed.
