Allied World seeks an experienced claims professional to investigate, evaluate, and resolve insurance/reinsurance claims across multiple lines. You will engage with underwriting, finance, actuarial, operations, and tech to deliver superior service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload, reviewing coverage, handling litigation, and collaborating with brokers, insureds, and reinsurers. A university degree and 0–3+ years experience are preferred.

• Assist with audits; work with reinsurers as needed.

Job Summary:

Investigate, evaluate, and resolve insurance/reinsurance claims across multiple lines of business. Engage in collaborative projects in support of other areas of the company, including underwriting, finance and accounting, actuarial, operations, and technology. Provide superior service to all customers, whether internal or external.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Claims Management

• Efficiently manage a vigorous caseload of claims involving a broad spectrum of accounts and coverages

• Analyze claims on multiple lines of business

• Review incoming documents to verify coverage and establish case reserves and where necessary Additional Case Reserves (ACRs)

• Promptly investigate matters, analyze coverage, and draft accurate and timely coverage correspondence

• Verify financial information and process payment requests with reinstatement offset where appropriate

Litigation & Settlement

• Manage litigation by effectively interacting with insureds, brokers, defense counsel and other parties as required

• Instruct and collaborate with counsel regarding litigation strategy and claim resolution

• Negotiate and resolve claims within scope of delegated authority

• Represent Company in resolution of claims and participate in legal proceedings, including mediations

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Conduct claim reviews at ceding companies when requested

• Interact with underwriters concerning renewals, prospective accounts, and individual claims

• Meet with existing or prospective insureds and brokers

• Liaise with other departments as required and provide assistance when needed

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare claim summaries, executive reports, and other management reports as necessary

• Generate various reports as required and work on special projects as needed

• Attend and/or present at relevant industry conferences/meetings

• Assist with claims-related queries in internal and external audits

• Work with reinsurers as needed

Qualifications:

The salary range for this role is between:

Compensation Range (If Required By Legislation)

$80,000-$90,000

The annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
