Job summary

Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon seeks a grooming assistant to operate snowmobile and light grooming equipment, set and maintain snowshoe trails, and support Nordic Center operations.

You will work with Nordic Center Manager and staff, monitor weather, ensure safety, and help with Nordic races and events; current hiring rate $16.50/hr; must have valid driver's license and be prepared for winter conditions.

Qualifications

• Current and valid driver's license.
• Experience with snowmobiles; knowledge of classic and skate Nordic skiing.
• Ability to work in harsh winter weather and physically demanding tasks.
• Minimum education: Read and write clearly.

Responsibilities

• Groom and compact snow surface using snowmobile drag and track setting equipment during and after storms.
• Set and maintain snowshoe trails after storms.
• Inspect and maintain trail signage and perform trailside maintenance.
• Assist with ticket checking at Access Gate and on trails.
• Communicate grooming status to Nordic Center Manager and staff.
• Assist with Nordic Center races and events.
