Job summary

Skirack in Burlington, VT seeks Nordic Ski Sales Associates to help customers find the right Nordic gear and accessories for all ages and abilities. You will be the go-to person for knowledge and friendly service, guiding gear choices and fitting to ensure comfort.

Prior retail experience is not required, but a passion for skiing and the willingness to learn are essential. The role requires weekend coverage, 15–35 hours weekly, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Nordic equipment and clothing; willingness to learn.
• Minimum 15 hours per week; weekends and some evenings required.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and time-management skills.
• Proficient with computers, Internet, POS, and phones.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service to every visitor.
• Assist customers in selecting gear based on needs and experience.
• Provide fitting assistance to ensure comfort and sizing.

• Ensure sales floors, displays, and fitting areas are visually appealing and functional.

• Provide coverage in other areas of the business as needed.

Overview: We have several open positions for Nordic Ski Sales Associates. In this position you will be the go-to for customers looking to buy Nordic gear and accessories for both recreational and competitive skiers of all ages and abilities. Prior retail experience is not necessary, but candidates must demonstrate the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills that are essential to providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service to every visitor.
• Assist customers in selecting the right gear and accessories based on their needs and experience level.
• Provide fitting assistance to ensure comfort and proper sizing.
• Keep the store and related areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Ensure sales floors, displays, and fitting areas are visually appealing and functional.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking as needed.
• Provide coverage in other areas of the business as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong technical knowledge of Nordic equipment, accessories, and clothing OR the interest in learning.
• Minimum expectation would be 15 hrs./week. Days and hours of work vary depending upon the needs of the business. Weekends and occasional evenings are required.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and manages time effectively and contributes to department performance goals.
• Must be able to use computers, Internet, POS and phones daily. Prior experience working in retail with Lightspeed POS is a plus.
• Must be able to safely lift/carry/drag 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand up to 7+ hours. (Reasonable accommodations will be considered)
