Job summary

Tahoe Donner Association is seeking friendly Cross-Country Ski Instructors to teach adults and children, assist with ski school events and help run clinics and tours at Alder Creek Adventure Center, Truckee, CA. You’ll emphasize safety, fun, and high-quality instruction.

Responsibilities include customer service, equipment fitting, on-snow information, and assisting with rental operations. PSIA/CPR/First Aid certifications are recommended and midweek/weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Passion to teach cross-country skiing to all levels and willingness to learn new skills.
• Minimum intermediate cross-country skiing skills or above appropriate to the level of position.
• Ability to assess and teach to a level appropriate to an assigned student or group’s abilities, fitness and needs.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness.
• PSIA membership recommended; CPR/First Aid certifications recommended.
• Ability to work midweek, weekends, holidays is preferred.
• PSIA Level I certification or related experience and/or training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, business partners and employees.
• Work with guests of all ages.
• Maintain current knowledge of Tahoe Donner Policies and procedures and teaching of cross-country skiing techniques.
• Uphold zero tolerance for sexual abuse and molestation by following protocols to protect students.
• Maintains an environment of safety, fun and learning.
• Teach ski and snowshoe lessons, guided tours, programs, clinics, group bookings and special events.
• Assist students with proper ski equipment use and techniques.
• Assist with on-snow information, question answering, participation encouragement, equipment fitting and pass checking.
• Assist with rental shop service if requested.
• Assist with light cleaning duties and snow removal.
