Position Description : The Department of Health Informatics & Information Management seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in undergraduate and graduate programs. For information about the department visit the Department of Health Informatics & Information Management website. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school/program need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos or Round Rock campuses, and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.

Required Qualifications:

  • Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience.
  • RHIA, RHIT, CPHIMS, or other relevant certification based on professional curriculum teaching assignment.
