Job summary

firstPRO, Inc. partners with a globally connected nonprofit to recruit a strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s financial direction.

This hands-on, executive role reports to the CEO and Board, guiding budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and internal controls while building a strong finance team. Flexible work arrangements include remote or hybrid, with periodic travel to New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Nonprofit finance leadership experience in a mid-size or larger organization.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, risk management and internal controls.
• Ability to present financial insights clearly to the Board and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial strategy and long-term planning for the organization.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting to the Board and Finance Committee.
• Strengthen internal controls and risk management across all finance functions.
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team with clear growth paths.
• Partner with CEO, senior leadership and Board to guide organizational growth.

firstPRO's is partnerned with a growing, internationally recognized nonprofit organization to identify an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, hands-on finance leader who wants to make a meaningful impact while partnering closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and Board to guide the organization’s financial strategy and continued growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Progressive nonprofit finance leadership experience in an organization of comparable size and complexity
• Strong expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, risk management, and internal controls
• Executive presence and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to the Board, Finance Committee, and senior leadership
• A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with a track record of developing teams and improving financial processes
• The confidence to serve as a trusted strategic advisor and provide sound financial guidance to executive leadership

A CPA or CMA designation and experience within a membership-based or similarly mission-driven organization are strong pluses.

Location: Flexible; New Jersey-based candidates are preferred but not required. Candidates outside the area should be comfortable with quarterly travel to the office.
