Job summary

YMCA of Greater Louisville is seeking a skilled Videographer & Editor to tell the organization’s story through high‑quality video and photography. You will work with marketing to produce content for campaigns, social media, websites, events, and fundraising across multiple locations.

The role requires a strong portfolio, 3–4 years of experience, and proficiency in Premiere/After Effects. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment with occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in videography, film production, video editing or a related field is required (or equivalent experience).
• Three to four (3–4) years of proven experience in video production and editing, preferably in a nonprofit or community‑focused setting.
• Strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing video and photography work is required.
• Proficiency with professional video equipment, cameras, audio, lighting, and other video and photography equipment.
• Strong visual storytelling skills and the ability to plan and visualize content before production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
• Experience with mobile editing apps.
• Strong understanding of video and photography composition, lighting, audio, editing, and production techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan, produce, and edit long-form video content that tells the YMCA’s story and highlights its mission, impact, programs, members, staff, volunteers, and community.
• Manage all phases of video production, including concept development, filming, lighting, audio, editing, and final delivery.
• Capture compelling interviews, b‑roll, and supporting footage that create an emotional connection and strengthen storytelling.
• Create engaging short-form video content for social media, digital marketing, and other platforms.
• Capture timely content at YMCA programs, events, and locations and identify opportunities to repurpose existing footage.
• Adapt video content for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, following platform-specific best practices.
• Plan, capture, and edit high-quality photography for YMCA events, programs, campaigns, facilities, and community activities.
• Provide professional headshots and staff photography for leadership, employees, volunteers, and other organizational needs.
• Build and maintain a strong library of current photography for use across digital, print, social media, website, and other marketing channels.
• Maintain video and photography assets in an organized library using the YMCA’s DAM system and storage platforms.
