Job summary

WKYT, part of Gray Media, seeks a Full-Time News/Sports Videographer & Editor to join our award-winning team in Lexington, KY. You will shoot high-impact daily news and dynamic sports across the Commonwealth, and edit packages with compelling nat sound and pacing on tight deadlines.

The role requires field photojournalism, live transmission setup, and strong collaboration with reporters and editors. Proficiency in EDIUS or Adobe Premiere Pro is essential; occasional nights and weekends apply.

Qualifications

Prior experience shooting and editing news or sports content in a professional broadcast setting.
Demonstrated eye for composition, lighting, sequencing, and natural sound.

Responsibilities

Field Photojournalism: Shoot high-quality video and capture natural audio for daily news and sports.
Comprehensive Sports Coverage: Cover Kentucky athletics, regional colleges, and high school sports.
Non-Linear Editing: Edit packages, VO/sot, game highlights, under tight deadlines with good rhythm and audio balance.
Collaborative Storytelling: Work with reporters, anchors, and producers to elevate scripts and pacing.
Live Operation: Set up and operate mobile transmission gear for reliable live shots.
Gear Care: Maintain camera, audio, lighting, and vehicle equipment.
