Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Controller for Dallas–Fort Worth. You will oversee outsourced accounting for multiple nonprofit clients, guide financial operations, and provide advisory leadership to boards.

The role blends hands-on accounting with strategic reporting in a mission-driven, hybrid setting. The position emphasizes strong controls, budgeting, and grants management, with experience across virtual and on-site environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required
• Experience handling multiple nonprofit clients preferred
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with QuickBooks and GL packages beneficial
• CPA credential a plus, bilingual a bonus

Responsibilities

• Serve as outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients
• Transform client financial departments to support their mission
• Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decisions
• Recommend and implement improvements in accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance
• Manage transactional activities: A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close
• Conduct analysis, data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting
• Oversee grant management, allocations, and funder reporting
• Prepare for and manage annual audits
• Provide client and staff training opportunities
