Job summary

Alvin Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Certified Non-Profit Professional (CNP) courses within the CEWD department. The instructor will guide students through the CNP curriculum, preparing them to become effective nonprofit leaders and to meet certification requirements.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons, facilitating discussions, coordinating with the Campus Director, and assessing student progress while supporting lifelong learning and program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of professional nonprofit experience
• Experience in teaching or training with a passion for educating future nonprofit leaders
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with online learning platforms and ability to integrate digital tools
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to work days, evenings and/or weekends up to 19 hours per week
• Preferred: CNP credential or related certifications, curriculum development experience, bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

• Teach the Certified Non-Profit Professional (CNP) course following the curriculum
• Guide students through six modules including leadership, sustainability, budgeting, communications, fundraising, and innovation
• Support students' volunteerism (20 hours) and professional experience (120 hours) requirements
• Prepare students for the CNP Exam and administer assessments
• Collaborate with the Campus Director to ensure certification requirements are met
• Utilize online portal (CNP Central) to track progress and connect students with mentors
• Promote lifelong learning and continued professional development
• Attend institutional meetings and adhere to college policies
