Job summary

Cornerstone Support Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a growing nonprofit in Wisconsin.

The role oversees the general ledger, close processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls while guiding system enhancements and cost controls. The incumbent will partner with the Fractional CFO, CAO, and executives to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• One or more accounting degrees or closely related fields of study.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Strong hands-on QuickBooks Desktop experience.
• Experience with corporate credit cards and expense management.
• Experience evaluating financial processes and implementing system improvements.
• Ability to communicate complex financial matters to non-financial leaders.
• Experience supervising and developing accounting or finance staff.
• High standards of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including general ledger oversight, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow information.
• Evaluate processes for accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and internal control.
• Identify recurring issues, determine root causes, and present recommendations.
• Oversee expense management and purchasing controls, including coding and approvals.
• Monitor Medicaid revenue, accounts receivable, and related reconciliations.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and analysis.
• Support external audits, tax reporting, Form 990, and compliance.
