Qualifications

• 8 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including supervisory or fiscal leadership experience.
• Experience in a nonprofit, grant-funded, or similarly regulated environment strongly preferred.
• Strong accounting and financial management skills, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manages financial and accounting operations of New Opportunities, Inc., ensuring transactions are planned and accounted for per GAAP and reported timely.
• Ensures core accounting functions (GL activity, reconciliations, month-end/year-end close) are accurate and timely.
• Ensures financial systems operate securely with proper access controls and data integrity protections.
• Manages Agency cash flow, cash forecasting, and banking activity.
• Ensures compliance with external funding and regulatory requirements; provides monthly internal financial reports including budget-to-actual and cash flow projections.
• Oversees annual audit and Single Audit processes and coordinates with the auditing firm.
• Establishes and updates fiscal policies and procedures and ensures adherence to approval guidelines.
• Provides supervision to Fiscal Department staff and directs financial reporting to programs.
