Job summary

The Winchester Rescue Mission is seeking a Finance Director to oversee accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, reporting to the CEO. This part-time role (22 hours/week) with potential to grow to full-time is based in Winchester, VA, with some remote flexibility, and will support senior leadership in budgeting and compliance to mission goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of not-for-profit financials.
• 2–4 years in financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial management and reporting.
• Review monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements for boards.
• Manage budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and ledgers.
• Coordinate with external agencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide financial forecasting and support grant reporting.
