Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is seeking an experienced Controller to manage its finance and accounting operations and to play a key leadership role within the organization. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, payroll, and budgeting, while driving process improvements in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related degree; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Strong ethical standards and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Lead financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Develop and improve financial processes and systems to support FSRI's objectives.
