Job summary

East End Cooperative Ministry is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations in a nonprofit setting. The role oversees the general ledger, reporting, cash flow, payroll, and year-end close, partnering with program managers to align budgets with funding.

This is a full-time on-site position in Pittsburgh, with travel to ensure compliance and accuracy. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years nonprofit accounting experience, familiarity with GAAP and grant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, GAAP, and grant management.
• Experience coordinating annual audits.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the organization's general ledger and accounting operations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain cash flow reports.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist CFO in developing the annual operating budget and monitor departmental budgets.
• Prepare variance analyses and grant expenditures reports.
• Prepare financial reports for government agencies and private funders; ensure IRS, state, local reporting compliance.
• Assist CFO with coordinating the annual independent financial audit and develop internal controls.
