Job summary

ASM Foundation seeks a Communications Coordinator to advance awareness of its programs and impact. You will lead digital and donor communications, newsletters, and marketing materials, reporting to the Executive Director of ASM Foundation.

You will develop content for social channels, craft donor appeals, and coordinate messaging across the Foundation to engage educators, students, members, and supporters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English/Writing, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field is required.
• 3–4 years of relevant professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit communications, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience creating content for social media and digital communications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred.
• Nonprofit, fundraising, or education-related communications experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write and produce newsletters, announcements, publications, and other digital and print communications.
• Develop and manage day-to-day content for the Foundation’s social media channels, including writing, creating, scheduling, and publishing posts.
• Develop donor communications, including annual fund appeal letters, campaign materials, donation acknowledgments, and stewardship communications.
• Work with Foundation staff to promote Foundation programs and initiatives and increase awareness and participation among educators, students, members, and other audiences.
• Gather and develop stories, updates, photos, and other content to support communications and marketing efforts on various platforms.
• Maintain consistent messaging and branding across Foundation communications.
• Support communications for Foundation events, activities, and initiatives.
