Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside seeks a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, audits, and process improvements. This role partners with the CFO to provide financial insights across departments and drive internal controls in a mission-driven nonprofit.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit or construction accounting preferred), and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, grants, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and GL.
• Lead monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Coordinate audits, Form 990, and grant accounting.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.
