Job summary

CLA is hiring a Controller for our Non-Profit CAAS practice in Southern New England, with opportunities in Quincy, Andover, Boston, Worcester, New Bedford (MA) and Cranston (RI). You will act as controller, advise on accounting practices, and manage multiple nonprofit engagements, delivering strategic financial direction.

Requirements include seven years in accounting/finance, a bachelor’s degree, nonprofit experience preferred, and CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Seven years of accounting/financial experience required.
• Bachelor's degree required; related experience may substitute.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Provide project management and advisory services on accounting and finance engagements.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Manage multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Attend industry events and trainings to foster opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of client policies, applicable laws, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and actions.
