Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller for its Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice in Southern New England, with opportunities across Quincy, Andover, Boston, Worcester, New Bedford, MA, and Cranston, RI. You will act as Controller for designated nonprofit clients and advise on best accounting practices.

The role emphasizes project and client management, with CPA preferred but not required. Salary range noted for Massachusetts; CLA offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Seven years of accounting and/or financial experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; combination of experience and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Nonprofit experience highly preferred.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for designated clients.
• Serve as consultant on accounting and finance best practices.
• Manage multiple client projects, workstreams, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and provide recommendations.
• Attend industry events and trainings to foster opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of client policies, regulatory directives, and accounting standards.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and actions.
