Job summary

Venable LLP’s Nonprofit Organizations Group seeks a paralegal to join the practice in the Washington, D.C. office to assist with multi-state charitable solicitation registration and compliance matters for nonprofits and companies that conduct charitable promotions and other fundraising activities.

The qualified candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple projects, strong time management, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track projects, updating attorneys on statuses and deadlines.
• Support attorneys on charitable foundations, governance, contracts, and joint ventures.
• Assist with federal and nationwide compliance deadlines and exemption filings for nonprofit clients.
• Assist with various filings and solicitations at state and federal levels.
• Aim to lead aspects of these responsibilities over time and meet billable hours requirements.
