Job summary

The role requires an active CPA, 5+ years in public accounting, and experience mentoring staff. Willingness to travel about 25% and develop client relationships across nonprofit sectors is essential.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting and CPA license required.
• 5+ years in public accounting.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring associates.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, FASB or IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high quality client service coordinating audit of financial statements and deliverables.
• Assess risk and design/communicate audit procedures to engagement teams.
• Understand and utilize RSM’s Audit Methodology.
• Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.
• Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors and monitor work product and coaching notes.
• Maintain contact with clients to understand impact of developments on current year engagements.
• Develop others by facilitating training and advising on career development.
• Read industry publications and share relevant information with clients.
• Anticipate and address client concerns and escalations.
• Discuss opportunities to introduce other firm services to clients.
• Develop a strategy to network with Centers of Influence to grow business.
• Manage profitability of projects.
• Identify accounting and auditing matters to Senior Managers and Partners.
• Ensure professional development through ongoing education.
