Qualifications

• Significant accounting experience within a nonprofit organization with nonprofit reporting knowledge.
• Proven track record managing month-end close, payroll, AP, AR, and financial statements.
• Ability to lead an accounting function and days-to-day operations in a multi-faceted environment.
• Strong technical proficiency with accounting systems and Excel, including reconciliations and analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across departments.
• Experience with grant accounting, fund tracking, and budget forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full month-end close process with reconciliations and balance sheet review.
• Direct payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities with strong internal controls.
• Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls to support compliance and efficiency.
• Provide financial analysis and variance explanations to support budgeting and planning.
• Coordinate with external auditors and stakeholders for audits and reviews.
• Lead and develop accounting staff in a collaborative environment.
• Implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency.
