Jobot is seeking a Director of Accounting for a nonprofit organization in Elkridge, MD. Hybrid work arrangement with a focus on GAAP, grants management, and nonprofit accounting principles.

You will lead the accounting function, oversee general ledger, AP/AR, and reporting, manage audits, and ensure accurate financial statements and grant compliance. Experience with Business Central and not-for-profit environments is highly valued.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably nonprofit sector.
• Solid understanding of nonprofit accounting, GAAP, and grants.
• Experience with Business Central is highly desirable.

Aufgaben

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Manage accruals and prepayments for accurate reporting.
• Lead ad hoc projects and provide audit support.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
• Collaborate on annual budgeting and planning.
• Oversee grants accounting and align expenditures with budgets.
• Forecast cash flow in partnership with program leadership.
