Job summary

The South Carolina Coastal Conservation League is seeking an Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, prepare statements, maintain records, and support budgeting and grant reporting. This role requires adherence to GAAP for nonprofits and IRS 501(c)(3) requirements.

You will manage restricted and unrestricted funds, coordinate annual audits, reconcile donations with the donor database, and assist with forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, nonprofit preferred.
• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Blackbaud Financial Edge.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare financial statements and support budgeting and grant reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits and work with development on donor contributions.
• Reconcile donations between donor database and accounting software.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS 501(c)(3) requirements, and policies.
