Job summary

The Coastal Conservation League is seeking a dedicated Accountant to oversee day-to-day financial operations, prepare statements, maintain records, and support budgeting and grant reporting. The role emphasizes GAAP compliance for nonprofits and collaboration with the development team on donor contributions.

Responsibilities include managing restricted/unrestricted funds, audit coordination, and accurate reconciliation between donor data and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Blackbaud Financial Edge, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Ensure GAAP compliance for nonprofits and IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations.
• Manage restricted and unrestricted funds, including grants and donor contributions.
• Adhere to internal financial policies and state/federal nonprofit regulations.
• Coordinate annual financial audits; work with development team on donor contributions in the system.
• Reconcile donations between donor database and accounting software; data cleanup of accounting records.
