Job summary

OSI Engineering is seeking a Mechanical FEA Engineer for a 12-month contract in Cupertino, CA, on site. The role focuses on nonlinear static and dynamic FEA to support predictive engineering for consumer products.

You will develop and validate structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer models using Abaqus/ANSYS, calibrate against physical tests, and communicate results to cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of FEA experience in large-volume consumer electronics.
• Experience with nonlinear static and dynamic FEA using Abaqus/ANSYS.
• Modeling in structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer domains.
• Experience with polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials.
• Ability to calibrate, verify, and validate models with physical tests.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform nonlinear static and dynamic finite element analysis using Abaqus, ANSYS, or equivalent CAE tools.
• Develop structural, thermomechanical, and heat-transfer models for consumer products.
• Build and validate models for polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials using test data.
• Analyze results, identify failure modes, and recommend design improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to communicate findings.
