Job summary

Astrion is seeking an NDE Technician for the Kennedy Space Center, FL, on second shift (3-11:30 PM). The role requires RT Level II certification and multiple NDE certifications, with a strong emphasis on aerospace testing and safety.

Onsite work supports space-related projects and requires US Citizenship and eligibility for Secret clearance. Responsibilities include field and lab NDE tasks, setup and operation of inspection equipment, and mentoring trainees.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED and completion of NDE/NDT training.
• Minimum of two years' NDT experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• NDE/NDT Level II RT certification per ANSI/SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
• At least three additional NDE Level II certifications per ANSI.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-field and laboratory NDE inspections.
• Follow written work instructions.
• Set up, standardize, and operate NDE equipment.
• Interpret inspection results per NDE methods.
• Maintain NDE equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Work with engineering or management on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to lab safety and policies.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician supporting the Civilian Division at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This full-time, represented position offers a great work/life balance while performing both in-field and laboratory NDE inspections supporting Kennedy Space Center and the United States Space Force 45th Space Wing at Canaveral Space Force Station.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and completion of a related NDE/NDT technical training curriculum.
• Two or more years of experience performing Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
• NDE/NDT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) in accordance with applicable ANSI practices, including SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
• A minimum of three additional NDE/NDT Level II certifications in accordance with applicable ANSI practices, including SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E. Additional certifications may include Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Leak Testing (LT), Visual/Optical Testing (VT), CCTV/CWI, and/or Infrared (IR).
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently perform tasks and provide guidance to trainees, Level I and Level II employees engaged in field or laboratory NDE inspection activities
• Follow written work instructions
• Setup, standardize, and operate NDE test equipment
• Interpret results of NDE inspections performed on equipment, systems and flight hardware
• Perform tests and interpret results utilizing NDE methods such as Radiography, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Detection, Visual/Optical (CCTV/CWI) and Infrared
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Perform work assigned with responsible NDE engineering or management
• Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures
• Perform tasks as directed
