Job summary

Astrion seeks a 2nd Shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This full-time role supports both field and lab NDE inspections on aerospace hardware with a strong focus on safety and precision.

Required are NDE/NDT Level II RT certification, multiple Level II NDE certifications, a valid Florida license, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Expect a 40-hour week with home nights and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with NDE/NDT training.
• 2+ years of experience performing NDT.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• NDE/NDT Level II RT certification per ANSI/SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
• At least three additional NDE/NDT Level II certifications per ANSI.
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform tasks and guide trainees, Level I and II in field or lab NDE inspection activities.
• Follow written work instructions.
• Set up, standardize, and operate NDE test equipment.
• Interpret results of NDE inspections on equipment, systems, and flight hardware.
• Perform tests using Radiography, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Detection, Visual/Optical, CCTV/CWI and Infrared.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Work with NDE engineering or management on tasks.
• Safely perform all work in compliance with lab policies and procedures.
• Perform tasks as directed.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician supporting the Civilian Division at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This full-time, represented position offers a great work/life balance while performing both in-field and laboratory NDE inspections supporting Kennedy Space Center and the United States Space Force 45th Space Wing at Canaveral Space Force Station.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and completion of a related NDE/NDT technical training curriculum.
• Two or more years of experience performing Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• NDE/NDT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) in accordance with applicable ANSI practices, including SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
• A minimum of three additional NDE/NDT Level II certifications in accordance with applicable ANSI practices, including SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E. Additional certifications may include Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Leak Testing (LT), Visual/Optical Testing (VT), CCTV/CWI, and/or Infrared (IR).
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Perform work assigned with responsible NDE engineering or management
• Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures
• Perform tasks as directed
