Job summary

Wedgewood Pharmacy LLC in Lexington, KY is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support high-quality medication preparation and timely delivery to pets. The role involves compounding non-sterile meds, labeling prescriptions, and maintaining accurate inventory in a production environment.

The candidate will follow formulas and procedures, stand up to 50 pounds, and obtain Kentucky Pharmacy Technician License with training provided. Onsite schedule supports a Monday–Friday routine.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Willing to obtain Kentucky Pharmacy Technician License (we will train you).
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, or compounding preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow formulas, procedures, and batch instructions.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals used in compounding.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to stay focused in a production environment.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and work in a lab/production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Carefully prepare medications of the highest quality to meet patient needs.
  • Compound non-sterile medications including capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, tablets, or treats.
  • Label prescriptions and prepackage bulk medications.
  • Monitor inventory levels for re-orders of depleting inventory or expiring chemicals.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning using proper disinfectants.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and validation testing per policies.
  • Utilize strong attention to detail, math skills, and focus.
  • Meet or exceed metrics for creating prescriptions.

The Basics


Location: Lexington, KY (Onsite)
Job Type: Full Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: 19.50 per hour

How You’ll Make an Impact



  • Carefully prepare medications of the highest quality to meet the needs of individual patients

  • Compound non-sterile medications including, but not limited to capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, tablets, or treats
