Job summary

Medix seeks a dedicated Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist for the Greater Kansas City area to oversee clinical verification and quality assurance of non-sterile customized medications. You will supervise compounding technicians, optimize workflows, and ensure strict adherence to USP, FDA, DEA, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with Kansas (Missouri preferred or willing to obtain).
• Strong foundation in pharmaceutical calculations, excellent clinical judgment, and a compliance-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform final clinical and technical verification of compounded non-sterile preparations, ensuring accurate ingredient weights, formulation integrity, and correct labeling.
• Oversee and direct frontline compounding technicians to maintain efficient order-to-dispensing cycle times in a high-volume environment.
• Enforce adherence to USP <795>, USP <800>, FDA 503A, DEA controlled substance regulations, and state board requirements.
• Review master formula records, approve beyond-use date (BUD) assignments, and provide accurate information to prescribing clinics and patients.
• Utilize Compounder Rx, Lifefile, and Pestle Rx to track workflow metrics and maintain meticulous records.
