Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with Kansas (Missouri preferred or willing to obtain).
  • Strong foundation in pharmaceutical calculations, excellent clinical judgment, and a compliance-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final clinical and technical verification of compounded non-sterile preparations, ensuring accurate ingredient weights, formulation integrity, and correct labeling.
  • Oversee and direct frontline compounding technicians to maintain efficient order-to-dispensing cycle times in a high-volume environment.
  • Enforce adherence to USP <795>, USP <800>, FDA 503A, DEA controlled substance regulations, and state board requirements.
  • Review master formula records, approve beyond-use date (BUD) assignments, and provide accurate information to prescribing clinics and patients.
  • Utilize Compounder Rx, Lifefile, and Pestle Rx to track workflow metrics and maintain meticulous records.

Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist - Greater Kansas City Area
Position Overview

A high-growth, high-throughput 503A Compounding Pharmacy in the Greater Kansas City area is seeking a dedicated Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist. This role is responsible for the clinical oversight, accurate verification, and quality assurance of non-sterile customized medications (including high-volume GLP-1 formulations, hormone replacement therapies, and functional medicine). Working closely with the Director of Pharmacy Operations and the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), you will supervise compounding technicians, optimize daily workflows, and ensure flawless adherence to state and federal regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Verification & Quality Assurance: Perform final clinical and technical verification of compounded non-sterile preparations, ensuring accurate ingredient weights, formulation integrity, and correct labeling.
  • Workflow Supervision: Oversee and direct frontline compounding technicians and support staff to maintain efficient order-to-dispensing cycle times in a high-volume environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to USP <795> and USP <800> standards, FDA 503A guidelines, DEA controlled substance regulations, and state board requirements.
  • Clinical Review & Consultation: Review master formula records, approve beyond-use date (BUD) assignments, and provide accurate information to prescribing clinics and patients regarding customized therapies.
  • System & Data Management: Utilize primary pharmacy platforms (Compounder Rx, Lifefile, and Pestle Rx) to track workflow metrics, document compliance logs, and ensure meticulous record-keeping.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State of Kansas (Missouri licensure is highly preferred, or must be willing to obtain promptly).
  • Skills: Strong foundation in pharmaceutical calculations, excellent clinical judgment, and a compliance-first mindset. Proactive problem-solver who thrives in an operationally driven, structured environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy environment.
  • Strong familiarity with GLP-1, HRT, and specialized non-sterile formulations.
  • Experience navigating compounding software systems (e.g., Compounder Rx, Lifefile).
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Compensation

$130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
