Job summary

The Salvation Army Grand Forks is seeking a Thrift Store Assistant Manager to help run daily store operations, assist with customer service, inventory flow, and staff coordination. This on-site role offers $16.50 per hour for a 40-hour work week at 3401 South 31st Street, Grand Forks, ND 58201.

You will contribute to merchandising, promotions, and donor/community engagement while supporting the mission of The Salvation Army and ensuring a positive shopping experience for donors and customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in nonprofit or thrift store settings.
• Must pass background checks and have a valid driver's license.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations including opening/closing procedures and basic cash handling.
• Support staff and volunteers under the Store Manager.
• Oversee sorting, pricing, and display of donated items; ensure clean, organized displays.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming store environment.
• Support promotions and merchandising plans to maximize sales.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and report issues timely.
