Job summary

Safariland NM Services seeks an NDA Operator & Facility Support to operate NDA equipment at customer sites, perform surveys, record data, and maintain instruments. This role includes facility support in Santa Fe, such as material handling and light assembly, with ~50% travel to remote sites and indoor/outdoor work.

Responsibilities cover SME/OJT delivery, sampling, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in technical, math, science, or physics with 5+ years NDA experience or 10 years NDA experience.
  • DOE experience preferred.
  • Host site training: TA-54, RAD worker, Hazwoper; LOQI for FGA, SUMMA, GGT.
  • OSHA General Certification and Respirator Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to sites to operate NDA equipment.
  • Provide SME/OJT expertise as qualified.
  • Conduct sampling (SUMMA) and filter changes on waste containers.
  • Analyze waste containers accurately and timely.
  • Maintain training; train new personnel and schedule updates.
  • Support instrument maintenance, repair, and calibrations.
  • Ensure work complies with national and international standards.
  • Prepare and review status reports and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with physicists to evaluate survey data.
  • Interact professionally with client staff.

Position Summary:

Operate and support field service operators related to Non-Destructive Assay work, CAAS support, and other services supported by PSC at customer sites. This includes performing surveys, recording data, operating and maintaining equipment. The work may be indoors or outdoors. Additionally, while not supporting field work, general facilities support at PSC in Santa Fe. This will include material handling, material receiving, light assembly, electrical panel work, and other facility support.

Essential Job Functions
  • Travel to sites to operate NDA equipment.
  • Provide SME/OJT expertise as qualified.
  • Conduct sampling (includes SUMMA sampling) and filter change-out on waste containers.
  • Perform analysis of waste containers in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
  • Keep training up to date.
  • Support maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of instruments, including calibrations.
  • Ensure that all Services work is carried out in line with recognized national and international standards.
  • Prepare and review status reports and other technical documentation to support survey.
  • Coordinate with physicts to evaluate survey data.
  • Deal professionally with client and client support staff
Essential Job Requirements
  • Safety conscious attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures verbatim.
  • Able to do radiological work that may require use of a respirator.
  • Team mentality and ability to work well with multiple different groups.
  • Maintain all training requirements. Ability to train new personnel, track training, and ensure training is scheduled.
  • Ability to use a GC/MS (Agilent preferred).
Qualifications And Education Requirements
  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate technical, math, science, or physics and a minimum of five years in a related field or equivalent combination of education and ten year’s experience in the NDA field providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance.
  • Prefer experience with the DOE.
  • Training/Qualifications Required: Host site and TA-54 training, RAD worker, and Hazwoper. Upon training completion, must be on the list of qualified individuals (LOQI) for FGA, filter change out, SUMMA, and GGT (potentially), includes SME/OJT qualifications as necessary for operations.
  • Certifications Required: OSHA General Certification and Respirator Certified.
