Job summary

Summary

Manage and lead a multi‑disciplinary engineering team throughout all phases of design, development, production, testing, operation, and maintenance for components, equipment, and tooling while conforming to NQA‑1 requirements. Provide significant input and insight to managers and project managers on engineering effort related to the production of engineering designs and products, improve project performance by implementing lessons learned, and manage engineering staffing/resource needs and hiring. Oversee the full life cycle of technical projects, from conception to delivery and installation, and support existing/installed products as needed.

Essential Job Functions
  • Service accounts for assigned customers, including:
    • Quoting and technical proposal development
    • Project management
    • Customer communication

  • Responsible for proposal development, engineering, costing and technical descriptions
  • Responsible for engineering & production documentation for assigned projects
  • Engage with various core production orders from contract review to shipping
  • Review project drawings/instructions to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions (e.g., part redesign, substitution of material or parts, rearrangement of parts or subassemblies)
  • Leverage significant industry experience to review and approve design drawings as required
  • Develop/test equipment and apply knowledge of engineering technology with minimal oversight
  • Provide input into project drawings/instructions regarding test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions (e.g., part redesign, substitution of material or parts, rearrangement of parts or subassemblies)
  • Define, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to determine engineering team health
  • Mentor and transition advanced industry knowledge to stakeholders
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Manage direct reports, including technical resources, and perform 1‑on‑1s responsible for their performance and development (3‑8 direct reports)
  • Responsible for project delivery, including coordination of all project resources
  • All other duties as assigned
Product Support
  • Provide advanced technical support on projects with minimal oversight
  • Manage engineering team workload, including assigning project tasks, managing resources, implementing key decisions, and creating estimates as needed
  • Work with Procurement and Facilities to ensure purchasing of materials and scheduling of parts flows smoothly
Essential Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of project management principles involved in coordinating, scheduling and directing projects
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to design and produce goods and services
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, models and eventually fabrication and testing
  • Knowledge of quality assurance requirements applicable to PSC products and design control
  • Ability to lead and direct internal personnel and subcontractors to ensure project fulfillment
  • Strong analytical, detail‑oriented mindset, good hands‑on skills, and ability to work on and lead teams
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to review and update budgetary and financial analyses/summaries
  • Stay current on all training requirements
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations
Qualifications And Education Requirements
  • BS in engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of CAD systems, including AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
  • Microsoft Office and Project tracking experience
  • Able to function in a dynamic fast‑moving environment
Qualifications And Education Preferences
  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience in industrial controls and knowledge of industrial power systems
