Vail Resorts is hiring seasonal ski instructors for the 2026/27 winter season in Leavenworth, Kansas. Instructors will teach both group and private lessons while ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment for guests of all ages. Job Specifications

• Starting Wage: $20.00/hr – Pay range reflects minimum base wages; instructors may have opportunities to earn more with additional teaching incentives
• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
• Shift Type: Full Time and Part Time hours available. For Full‑Time instructors, a 40‑hour workweek is not guaranteed. Scheduled hours will vary depending on business volume.
• Minimum Age: At least 16 years of age
• Housing Availability: Yes

Job Responsibilities

• Teach group and private lessons
• Work with guests of all ages, with a focus on children
• Deliver world‑class guest service
• Create a safe and fun learning environment
• Support all needs of the snow sports school: scanning, running surface lifts, facilitating lunch, fitting equipment
• Provide guest feedback that inspires and creates lifelong skiers
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Comfortable and competent skiing on groomed blue terrain
• Willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older
• Fluently communicate in English
• Willing to work weekends/holidays and meet minimum scheduling requirements
• Comfortable being in ski boots for extended periods of time
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards

As a Non‑Certified Ski Instructor, you have the ability to be a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and roles to support the one‑resort mentality, including:

• Lift Experience
• Mountain Activities
• Food and Beverage Support
• Base Area Operations
• Retail Rental Operations
