Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida seeks a patient care technician to assist in delivering high-quality patient care under supervision. You will take vital signs, document in the EMR, and comply with policies while ensuring safety and cleanliness in the care environment.

The role emphasizes effective communication with patients and families, teamwork with the healthcare team, and participation in performance improvement initiatives. BLS/CPR is required; CNA/CPCT preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Required].
• Work Experience: 1+ PCT experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS/CPR required; CNA/CPCT/NCCT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering patient care under a licensed nurse.
• Accurately record vital signs and document in EMR.
• Perform duties per policy and procedure and maintain safety.
• Use PPE correctly and follow isolation guidelines.

Job Description: Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse. Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy. Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure. Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.
