Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering compassionate care under RN supervision. You will take vital signs, document in the EMR, and contribute to a safe, clean environment while following safety protocols.

The role emphasizes continuous learning, effective communication with patients and family, and adherence to hospital policies. Night shifts with opportunities for career development and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required
• PCT experience is preferred
• CNA certification is preferred
• CPCT/A/EMT certifications are considered a plus

Responsibilities

• Assists in patient care under direction of a licensed nurse
• Accurately records vital signs and documents in EMR
• Maintains accurate documentation per policy
• Performs tasks within scope during clinical emergencies
• Contributes to performance improvement and quality standards
• Follows PPE and isolation guidelines and maintains safety

Job Description

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record.
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies.
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
• OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred]
• OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]

Pay Range
