Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under a licensed nurse. The role includes taking vital signs, documenting in the EMR, and following safety and PPE guidelines in a night shift at the New Smyrna Beach facility.

You will join a team focused on compassionate care and continuous improvement, with opportunities for professional growth and commitment to AdventHealth’s core values. High school diploma and BLS are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Additional patient care certifications preferred (CPCT/A, NCPCT, PCT-C, EMT).

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Accurately take vital signs and document in EMR.
• Document procedures per policy.
• Maintain clean and safe patient environment.
• Communicate with patients, families, and health team.
• Perform point-of-care testing if competent.
• Follow isolation guidelines and PPE usage.

Job Description:

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.
