Job summary

Vail Resorts in Vermont is hiring for Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 roles. Starting wage ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, with the potential for growth based on performance and tenure. Employment is seasonal with awards and weather-appropriate training.

The role focuses on guest safety, matching athletes to skill levels, guiding training sessions and competitions, and supporting event operations. Benefits include free passes, discounts, retirement plan, EAP and professional development

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Upholding the highest levels of guest and personal safety on varied terrain under varying winter weather conditions.
• Ensuring that athletes are matched to appropriate skier/skill level and working with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.
• Clearly communicating instructions and assisting athletes during training sessions and at competitions.
• Supervising athletes in training at all times; ensuring return of athletes to identified guardian.
• Assisting in operational responsibilities of competition services and related SRS programs including registration, directing athletes to equipment fitting, upkeep of outdoor training areas, and cleanliness of facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Attend Ski or Ride training sessions
• Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must work well in a team
• Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
• Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
• Must be available to work holidays and weekends
• Must be able to lift, stand, walk, stoop, kneel,crouch, and reachfrequently.
• Must attain US Ski and Snowboard Level 100 by end of second season

Preferred Skills:

• Previousexperience with teaching/coaching/mentoring
• Experience coaching experience of winter sports athletes of all ages
• Previousski/snowboard coaching experience
• Knowledge of local area/resort

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
